20 Super Eagles Players Join First Training for AFCON Qualifier vs Libya

The Super Eagles held their first training session at Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Tuesday, as 20 players assembled in Uyo to prepare for their Group D AFCON qualifiers against Libya. The camp opened on Sunday, with players arriving from their respective clubs. Early arrivals included Amas Obasogie, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, and Fisayo Dele Bashiru.



The Nigerian national team leads Group D with four points, having won against Benin Republic 3-0 and drawn 0-0 with Rwanda. In contrast, Libya sits at the bottom with one point, following a 1-1 draw against Rwanda and a 2-1 loss to Benin. The Super Eagles will host Libya in Uyo on Friday for the third matchday, with the return leg scheduled for October 15 in Benghazi. A media session with the players will be held on October 9, followed by a pre-match press conference on October 10.
