Lagos FA Reaffirms Commitment to Supporting Local Teams

As the 2024/2025 NNL season approaches, the Lagos State Football Association Lagos FA has reiterated its dedication to supporting all Lagos based teams participating in the national football leagues. This commitment encompasses both male and female teams competing across various divisions, including the NPFL, NNL, and NLO.



Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, the Lagos FA Chairman, expressed confidence in the teams' abilities to excel. He pledged continued technical support to enhance their performances, emphasising the importance of their success for the state’s football development.



"Lagos is not just the centre of excellence but also the home of football," Liameed said, highlighting the enabling environment created by Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu. He also expressed hopes for the promotion of two additional Lagos teams to join Ikorodu City FC in the NPFL next season.



This season sees six Lagos teams, including Smart City, Madiba FC, 1472 FC, Inter Lagos FC, First Bank FC, and Sporting Lagos FC, competing in the NNL, underscoring the state’s robust football infrastructure.
