Nasarawa United Backed by Deputy Governor Akabe Ahead of Super 8 Clash

With the 2023/24 Nigeria National League Super 8 Play off on the horizon, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, made a spirited visit to Nasarawa United. During his visit to Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday, Akabe addressed the team, which was gearing up for their departure to Enugu later in the day. He expressed his pride and confidence in the team, stressing the government's unwavering support and the high hopes pinned on them by their fans both locally and globally.



Akabe emphasized the strategic importance of the competition, noting the team’s potential to advance beyond the Super 8 due to their commendable performance in the league so far. The state, according to him, remains committed to seeing the team return to the elite levels of domestic football. He highlighted ongoing government support, including recent financial approvals, and shared his aspirations for the team’s victory in Enugu.



The team's chairman, Dr. Othman Ahmed Ibrahim, and the captain, King Osanga, echoed the sentiment, committing to a disciplined performance to meet the state's expectations. The event concluded with the deputy governor donating N500,000 to aid the team’s efforts, underscoring a personal commitment to their success.
