    Gold standard of cookware!

There is a reason these are widely considered to be the best pans - they are! Even eggs can be cooked without sticking in these as long as you know how to cook in stainless steel pans. They stand up to everyday use, no sticking, no staining, and no warping! Heat is evenly distributed, helping to prevent hot spots and burning. They look amazing hanging or stacked, and are some of the most versatile pans available. Easy to heat, easy to cook in, and even easier to clean.

Highest quality 5-ply stainless steel cooking set.

This set is real Calphalon. These are thick 5-ply stainless steel - heavy pans. They will last a lifetime with proper use and cleaning. The pans are beatififul and I love that they come with all steel tops instead of glass tops - this makes a huge difference in kitchen safety standards. These are safer as you will never experience the shattering of glass. The tops fit perfectly and make a seal which is great for the pro and home chef alike. You can't beat this quality with any other steel pot or pan. There are 4 distinct sizes. One large boiler great for pastas, soups, potatoes and more. A large high rimmed skillet great for sauces, curries, roasting and meats. A pot great for smaller boiled things and sauces and a small tall rimmed pan great for special sauces and such. The variety is great and much better than sets that have only things that are very similar. For stainless steel at home heat the pan on medium - you want to get it hot enough that if you add one drop of water it skates across the surface. You're looking to make the surface water phobic. Then you add your oils and then your items to cook. When you wash wait until the pan has cooled down a bit. Wash it. If food is super stuck or burned I use baking soda or bar keepers friend. But with calphalon it is rare to need any major scrubbing. Dont over heat your pan. Stainless steel is such a good conductor that you won't need to cook on super high heat. You can get a great steak sear on all sides and then stick the pan right into the oven to finish it off.The pans are oven safe - and can be used on electric, gas and induction. Though it says they are dishwasher safe for home cooks I recommend handwashing. They take up a lot of room in the dishwasher so it's not worth doing it that way.Hand-wash, dry on dish rack and put away is my favorite way.The price is amazing for this quality of a set. They are so many ply and so heavy that you can protect yourself from an intruder as well as make all your favorite foods. I

Superb Calphalon Quality. Will last me a lifetime.

I’ve recently decided to get rid of all my old “non-stick” Teflon-type pans and have replaced them with this 8-piece set of stainless steel Calphalon pots and pans. This set has everything I need: a nice big pan perfect for steaks, burgers, or stir-fries, a sauce pot, a soup pot, and a roomy pasta/potatoes/stock pot. All with handles and well-fitting lids. And all made with that sturdy Calphalon quality that I’ve come to respect over the years. Each piece is a bit heavy, but that just tells me they are made with real quality. They’re not going to warp or degrade over time like some of my old cheap pots and pans did. The high-quality 5-ply 18/10 stainless steel they’re made of is immaculate, shiny, smooth, and perfectly flat on the bottom. I really enjoy cooking with them. They heat up quickly and the heat is distributed evenly throughout. They work well on my glass-top electric stove and can even go right into the oven for some final browning or cheese melting.I have found that with just a little bit of oil or butter in a pre-heated hot pan, they are just as non-stick as my old pans, but they don’t have any dangerous Teflon or any chemical coatings. I feel good about the fact that they are completely non-toxic, free of PFAS, PFOA, Lead, and Cadmium, and safe to use. Nothing bad will leach into the food I feed my family. These pots and pans are dishwasher safe, but I always hand wash them anyway. They wash up pretty easily, and if I’ve inadvertently burnt some food, I can add some Barkeeper’s Friend or some baking soda to scrub it off. To clean off any water spots that dry on the stainless steel, I just spray on a solution of half water, half vinegar, and wipe it off with a microfiber cloth. They look brand new every time! I love taking good care of my Calphalon pots and pans because I know they will last me a very long time!

Good choice for the sagacious amateur

Extremely pleased with the quality of these Calphalon skillets. I wanted All-Clad but decided that the increased quality probably didn’t justify the massive increase in price for my amateur kitchen. These pieces have a nice weight, heat evenly, flare slightly at the rim, and produce an excellent breakfast scramble. My only gripe is the brutalist handle with square shaped holes.. looks so Soviet. They are well made and fully functional, stay cool over gas burners, but I just find the aesthetic off putting. Rounded edges and maybe a nice curve and these would be 5 stars. I‘ll get used to the handles - nice bang for my buk. Recommended.

    Poor quality and finish

I really wanted to like this set.The name used to be synonymous with quality, but NOT anymore. No matter how much or how little oil you use, high heat, low heat, pre-heat, all foods stick. The main reason being that the finish inside is very rough. you can see it and feel it with your fingertips. If it were truly polished, there wouldn't be rough micro ridges for food to stick to.Look elsewhere, you'll be glad you did.

Husband is still happy with them after 6 mos of regular use

My husband picked these out because he wanted to move away from nonstick cookware. They’ve been in regular use for about 6 months now. I’m not a fan of stainless (no patience for it), but he’s put them through their paces. He likes that they heat evenly, feel substantial without being heavy and continue to look good even after repeated use.Like any stainless steel cookware, there’s a bit of a learning curve (and a lot of soaking with baking soda in the beginning). Once he got the hang of it, he’s cooking as well as I do with my nonstick. Maybe someday I’ll have to convert after all?The set includes more commonly used kitchen sizes. The pan isn’t big enough to make my family’s paprikas recipe, but then again, very few pans are, lol. With how sturdy these pans are, I expect them to last a very long time.
