  Great for tailgating and road trips

  I purchased this cooler to use as a freezer we could power with a battery when our whole area lost power for days and there was no ice or generator left anywhere. Now we take it on every road trip and for tailgating because it is so nice to use and not need ice. It keeps the temp perfect and can be any freezer/fridge combo. I needed a large item at the time, but I wish I had a smaller one for regular road trips too.

  It’s a mixed bag

  Dometic compressor coolers work great, but …. WiFi and the Mobile cool app sucks. First, it doesn’t work….and they also don’t send a warranty registration card to fill out and the web site sucks too. Says upload failed after 4 attempts … I give up.

  Dometic CFX5 75DZ - Damaged Shipment

  The shipping box showed signs of rough handling, including a hole that went completely through the back of the box. As a result, the cooler/freezer has dents toward the lower middle of the rear and in the front of the cooler. The Styrofoam corner protectors on that end were cracked, suggesting it took a hard impact or may have been dropped.I also noticed a slight separation in the plastic between where the plastic over the compressor meets the cooling wall. Now I'm wondering of that could cause any loss of cooling efficiency or other problems?The unit runs, and we can live with the dents, but I’m concerned about the separation of the white inner liner. Called Dometic Support Center and they haven't gotten back yet. I just want them to tell me if this is bad enough to send back to them or Amaon and get it replaced or not.

  Tried twice! Junk both times.

  I tried two separate times, and neither unit worked properly. The first unit worked fine using AC power, but it blew out one of the zones immediately when I switched to using DC power. The replacement unit worked fine with DC power, but was DOA when I tried to use AC power. To add salt to the wound, I replaced it with a cheap, no-name Chinese knock off which, of course, works flawlessly. It’s frustrating when American companies make junk like this and charge a premium for it.

  Fits Tiffin Allegro Bus slide tray

  Installed into 2015 Tiffin Allegro Bus slide tray in PS compartment #1. Had to drill out riveted brackets that held original Dometic and install a 12V outlet in the right corner of cabinet (just connect to 12 volt outlet in receptacle box on back wall). Using a step drill, cut drain holes in tray that line up with the bung drains inside cooler. Attached short rubber hoses to each drain port such that we can flush out cooler with tray out and will drain onto ground instead of inside the tray. Spaced cooler and made it firm in tray using a piece of heater hose along the left side and small rubber wedge in back. If you route wires from cooler up out of the way will need to add a 1 foot extension for the AC wire in order to reach outlet on back wall. Looks great! Also, since we use this while the RV slide out is deployed above it, removed top basket from the small side of cooler since top opening space doesn't allow for removal of it to reach lower basket. Reverse door openings so control panel is on the left side. Can retain handle with the bottle opener! (other handle comes off easily to accommodate door lock mechanism). Placed an open design silicone grip mat on the resulting shelf. Very happy with purchase.
