Does all the heavy coffee math for you, but the manual steam wand takes practice
I always assumed that pulling a proper shot of espresso required years of barista training and a profound understanding of thermodynamics. As it turns out, you just need a machine that handles the math for you. The stainless steel exterior looks highly presentable and premium sitting on the kitchen counter, and it takes up surprisingly little space for a unit that houses an entire brewing and grinding ecosystem. Setting it up is completely straightforward, and the built-in precision scale totally eliminates the messy, frustrating guesswork of trying to manually weigh out the exact right amount of beans at six in the morning. The actual brewing process is incredibly fast, taking you from whole beans to a finished drink in just a couple of minutes. Because the conical burr grinder automatically calibrates the dose and grind size based on what you are making whether that is a standard drip coffee or a concentrated espresso shot the consistency is remarkably steady. The internal sensors adjust the water temperature and pressure in real time, meaning the coffee genuinely tastes rich and balanced instead of coming out terribly bitter or sour. It is almost insulting how easily it produces a better morning brew than my old, painstakingly slow manual pour-over routine. The only area where this machine forces you to actually earn your latte is the milk frothing. It features a completely manual steam wand, which gives you excellent control over the microfoam thickness for both dairy and plant-based milks, but it absolutely requires a bit of a learning curve. You will likely make overly bubbly foam or heat the milk unevenly on your first few attempts before you figure out the correct angle for the pitcher. Once you get the hang of the wand, though, the entire setup consistently delivers excellent drinks without forcing you to wait in line at a local café.

Poor drip coffee; too hard to learn
I bought this combo drip and espresso machine for the convenience of having both in one unit, but I was deeply disappointed with the drip coffee function. Even using my go-to, freshly ground beans that always tasted great in my previous machines, the Ninja produced an overly bitter cup that completely missed its usual flavor notes. While the espresso side likely required more patience and practice than I had to give, the poor quality of the standard coffee ultimately led me to return it after a couple of weeks.

Makes coffee feel like a whole new world
This Ninja espresso machine is impressive, but it is not something I would call a quick little counter gadget. It takes up real space on the counter, so you need to have a good spot for it before you set it up. The setup was not impossible, but it does take some patience. I would definitely take your time with the instructions instead of trying to rush through it.Once it is set up though, it really does make coffee feel like a whole new world. It is very different from just making a regular cup and walking away. There is more of a process to it, but in a good way. You get to make espresso style drinks, cappuccinos, and drinks that feel much more special at home. There is a learning curve. The first time using it, I had to get comfortable with the steps, how everything fits together, and how I liked the drink. It takes a little practice, but once you get into the rhythm, it becomes much more enjoyable. The frothing part adds a lot and makes the drink feel more finished. The main thing to know is that this is for someone who actually wants the experience of making better coffee drinks at home. It needs counter space, it needs setup time, and it needs a little cleanup. But if you enjoy coffee, it feels like a real upgrade to the kitchen. Will save money by being able to do all this from home!Pros:• Makes coffee drinks feel much more special• Frothing feature adds a lot to the experience• Looks great once set up on the counter

My Husband Has Become My Full-Time Barista and I Couldn't Be Happier
No sooner had I pulled this box off the front porch and brought it into the house than my husband was tearing into it to get his hands on this beautiful machine.True to the Ninja name, the quality is there. My husband spent hours poring over the instruction booklet before setting everything up. When I asked whether it was really necessary to read every single word, he admitted it probably wasn't, but that's just his happy place. Some people watch sports. My husband reads appliance manuals cover to cover. The good news is that setup appeared straightforward, and he had everything assembled and sitting on our counter without any problems. I was also pleasantly surprised by the footprint. It takes up only a little more counter space than the Keurig setup we were using before, which is impressive considering everything this machine can do.Since setting it up, my husband has happily worked his way through what feels like every coffee drink known to mankind. Lattes? Check. Espresso? Check. Cappuccinos? Check. Drip coffee? Absolutely.I've personally only used the drip coffee function, but the guided settings make everything look incredibly approachable. Even someone new to espresso machines (like my husband) should be able to get started without feeling intimidated. The machine walks you through the process, and as your confidence grows, you can fine-tune settings to create more personalized drinks. One feature I really appreciated was the flexibility. When we first got the machine, we only had pre-ground coffee on hand. Thankfully, there's a bypass option that lets you skip the built-in grinder and use grounds instead of beans. Once we stocked up on whole beans, we were able to take advantage of the grinder as well. The coffee quality has been a huge upgrade from the K-cup coffee we were drinking before. Everything tastes fresher, richer, and more flavorful. What I love most is how versatile this machine is. Whether you're someone who only drinks drip coffee or you're an aspir

Great workhorse … will beautify your counter without hogging it!
My first espresso machine, and I love it! First off….I would like to give a huge shout out to the Ninja support team who were easy to contact and helped walk me through the setup and help me fix what I mistakenly thought was a malfunction. They set up a Zoom session and patiently walked me through every step, from setup to drink crafting. I was able to make my first Latte with ease! The machine is well-built and heavy duty out of heavy plastic and stainless steel materials. It is quite heavy and sturdy. It is a beautiful and shiny piece of counter jewelry, with sparkling chrome-finished stainless steel. The grinder works well, stores your beans in a freshness sealed hopper and automatically grinds and doses a fresh dose of espresso or coffee at the correct grind setting, customized for whatever drink you choose. The machine does make some noise, but is no more noisy than what you hear in your favorite coffee shop… and TBH I enjoy the sound ☺️.The machine comes with 2 brew basket sizes…a double shot, and a triple shot. It has 5 drink settings… espresso (double), triple, classic (drip coffee), rich (strong drip coffee), and over ice. It has three different strength settings to choose from. The machine gives you a recommendation for the grind coarseness setting for whatever drink you choose, but you are free to choose your own.The milk frother works great and is super simple. This was the function I was most intimidated to try, but turned out to be the easiest and the funnest. One of the things that I love about this machine is it has a very small footprint, so it doesn’t take up much room on my counter. I was worried that making my own lattes or coffee with this machine would require a ton of preparation and a lot of cleanup… I was pleasantly surprised that this machine is just as easy, or easier than the cleanup from my drip coffee maker. This machine is GREAT for a beginner like me, or for anyone who wants a well-built, thoughtfully engineered workhorse that won’t ho

Could Use a Bit of Fine Tuning, But Nice Machine That is Fun to Use
We are big fans of Ninja appliances, from air fryers to blenders. This coffee machine lives up to the quality of their other devices, but there are some small issues with it that I would work on for the next version. This is not a fully automatic, so you will need to fill and tamp the basket, plus dispose of the old grounds and clean it, every time you make a cup. What makes this much less of a burden is the built-in grinder with a scale. Over the first cups, it will adjust the suggested grind size, but you must manually change the grind size if you want to follow its suggestions. It would be nice if it did this automatically. I found that the automatic settings are pretty good, but not as good as dialing it in yourself. You can always ignore the suggested grind size if you like. Either way, the espresso has a nice crema and flavor, which tells me the pressure and temperature are reasonable.Making coffee... how do you make coffee? I looked in the quick guides and instruction manuals and could not find out how. I finally gave in and scanned the QR code for instructions that is on the coffee maker, which just took me to a page selling Ninja products. Hopefully, they have fixed that by the time you are reading this. Finally, I searched Youtube, where I found a good video showing how to do it. It is good that I watched it instead of just trying to figure it out on my own, since it is not intuitive. You should not need to use the internet to make a cup of coffee. For making coffee, you must use the larger basket. Once inserted, different options are available on the machine that include the coffee options like "classic". If you choose this, the screen will recommend a very different grind setting than for espresso. I worry that this constant back and forth will wear out the mechanism, which makes an audible sound each time the grind size is changed. Once the coffee is ground, you give the basket a little shake before removing the funnel. You must not tamp it down. From the

Versatile coffee and espresso machine with excellent everyday convenience
I’ve been using this coffee and espresso machine as my main setup at home, and it’s been a really nice upgrade because I can make regular coffee, iced coffee, espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos without having separate machines taking up counter space. The compact size is one of my favorite things about it since my kitchen isn’t huge, but it still gives me plenty of brewing options. Once I got familiar with the controls, it became really easy to use, and I like that the machine handles a lot of the adjustments automatically instead of making me constantly guess at grind size, dose, temperature, and pressure. The built-in grinder has been a big plus for me because I can use whole beans and grind them fresh for each drink. Coffee tastes noticeably fresher compared to using pre-ground beans, and the weight-based dosing makes the process feel much more consistent from cup to cup. I’ve had good results switching between espresso and regular drip coffee, and I especially like having the over-ice option when I want cold coffee without pulling out another appliance. The overall versatility is excellent, and I find myself using different brewing modes more often than I expected.I’ve also been impressed with the quality of the materials and overall construction. The machine feels solid and well put together rather than cheap or flimsy, and the grinder, controls, and brewing components have all worked smoothly so far. The steam wand gives me more control over milk texture, and after a little practice I’ve been able to get really nice foam for lattes and cappuccinos with both regular and plant-based milk. It does take slightly more effort than a fully automatic frothing system, but I actually like being able to control the temperature and texture myself.Cleaning and daily maintenance have been pretty manageable too. Like most espresso machines, there are a few parts that need regular rinsing and wiping, especially the steam wand and areas around the grounds, but nothing has felt o
