    Nice Solid Rice Cooker

Purchased to replace my old Panasonic rice cooker that burnt out at the bottom. I've used it a couple times now and it works as it should. It's so nice to have a non stick inner pot with no scratches! Our old one was pretty beat up. I bought a silicone rice spoon to keep the pot scratch free (who knows how toxic they can be when they are damaged - manufacturer suggests getting a new inner pot after 3 years). Absolutely LOVE the pop off plate at the lid for easy cleaning, this is a bonus i had not expected. Japanese made (the main reason for purchase). The long cord is retractable. There is sort of a bubble at the bottom of the cooker that people seem to think is a defect but i think it's made that way. I hope everyone else's is the same? Nevertheless it's working perfectly and hope it will last another decade. Will update review if otherwise.

    It does its job.

First and foremost, that "dent" inside the pot is not a dent, it's to make space for the control switch outside the unit. It's just like the wheel well inside your car.Overall the pot does exactly what it's meant to do. It cooks rice well (if you do the proper measurements), the inner pot is very easy to clean, and the build quality is excellent. My biggest complaints are how easily the inner pot scratches even with the included spoon, and the spoon holder is white.

Makes great rice - have to use filtered water

UPDATE: After using filtered water from the fridge, this worked beautifully with no spitting from the steam vent. Rice was perfect. This makes very good rice. It's easy to make it and just the push of one button and it's good to go. My only complaint is that it spits starchy liquid out the steam vent. We have experimented with different rice and water amounts, rinsing and not rinsing, soaking and not soaking and nothing stops it from spitting all over the place. We do put a folded paper towel over the whole steam vent and that helps. I do think it's a bit overpriced for a simple rice cooker but again, it makes very good rice. If it lasts many years I'll be happy with what we paid. It's being used many times a week.

    Simple and cooks well

Good for college students. Cooked rice perfectly. Im wondering what's wrong with those who claim it doesnt cook their rice correctly? Too much water? Too much rice? The only problem with the unit is you need to unplug it. Otherwise it'll stay on warm. Always cool the cooked rice and place in fridge the same day.

    Best rice cooker IMO

There is really nothing to say about. It’s made in Japan, very reliable brand (I’ve been using it for years now and just sad that people always buy it from me whenever I move out apartments because this thing just works)This rice cooker is very easy to use, just put the rice, wash it like an asian person, measure it, put in the rice cooker, press the lever and just wait till it cooks.I usually add a little bit more water than usual to keep the rice moist (while it is plugged in to keep it warm).
