    Love this machine!

This espresso machine is one of the best ones I could find for a really great price. There aren’t a lot of reviews here but I checked some other websites and it looked like good reviews all around so I gave it a try. It makes amazing coffee with just enough selections. My only complaint about this machine is the steam wand. It rinses with water every time the machine is turned on, and sprays some water before making steam. My wand doesn't stay pointing directly down so the water gets sprayed onto my counter. Not a huge deal but for this price, not what i was hoping for.

    DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE

Move along and find something else. After having a Philips 4200 model crap about after about 2 years, I decided to replace it with this. I was hoping for 3-5 years, and easier cleanup than the Philips. It delivered on the latter, but this one crapped out in 10 months. Even when it worked the software was a buggy mess and descaling worked once out of the 4-5 times I tried it. This looks nice, but if mine is any indication they are garbage on reliability.

Makes a great espresso or americano

I love this! It's very similar to one I bought from Tchibo (the inside workings are the same) over a year ago. The Tchibo one is still working fine but it doesn't have the steam/milk frothing wand like this one. Overall this GE machine works very well and I don't really have complaints with the drinks it makes. There is a nice crema when I make espresso shots. The only minor complaints I have is that the steam wand will not stay pointed downwards when not in use and will spray all over the place and not in the hole in the drip tray, (when purging) like it is supposed to. I just set a cup underneath when I turn it on. The drip tray is very small and is curved on the edges which makes it even smaller. I use the one I got with the Tchibo machine instead. I have not installed the app and so I can't comment on how that works. It isn't necessary to have the app to use the machine. I have no desire to use the app, pulling out my phone in the morning and fumbling around when I'm half asleep doesn't sound like something I want to mess with. So far this is a very good machine for the money I paid when it was on sale. I thought the regular price was too high but I just waited for a sale.

Won side by side comparison with Jura e6

Got Jura e6 and GE Profile and GE won - better and higher temperature foam, higher temperature of espresso shot, more beautiful from our perspective, takes less space. The most useful Amazon Junkie review does exactly match our experience. Amazing coffee. This is a very first day of our experience. We use light or medium roast from Golden Lantern Coffee Roasters. Update from three weeks later - returned Jura e6 and adding one more of GE Profile while it is on sale, we like to use different coffee beans :))) Our blind coffee tasting found no advantage of Jura e6 over GE Profile. After one year - we bought second GE Profile for office, all our friends bought it and super happy. Could not recommend it enough. Just try different settings. Check Reddit for recommendations on settings. Good luck :)

    Breaks after 20 months

20 months later the water sensor is starting to misfire and GE tech support is miserable.

Got this for my sister—her new favorite thing (and the lattes are legit)

My brother-in-law had me order this as a surprise Christmas gift for my sister, and she absolutely loves it. I got to try one of the lattes myself and... yeah, I get the hype. Smooth, hot, and made in under two minutes—felt like something from a café.She told me she's been using the SmartHQ app to tweak the drink strength and size, which makes it feel more personal than a standard one-touch machine. She's had her issues with the app bugging out but with the updates its improved. The milk frother makes great foam (none of that watery stuff), and the grind settings actually let her fine-tune how bold she wants it.It’s sleek on the counter, easy to clean, and makes really solid espresso. Honestly, I kind of want one for myself now.

Heavy bulky and doesn’t make a regular cup of coffee

I didn’t like anything about this coffee maker. It was heavy, bulky and wouldn’t make a regular cup of coffee. It made an expresso and what was called an Americano but it was maybe a half ounce more than an expresso

    So easy!

I love this thing and I’m so glad I bought it. It makes excellent espresso and the frother wand works really really well. I was able to connect the app, and through that you are able to modify how much water is poured through the machine for each shot, the temperature you’d like, and also customize your “my brew” button (I have mine programmed to make 2 espresso shots back to back). I also love that it rinses before each use. The only thing I do not like, and this might just be a defect on my machine, is that the frother wand won’t point straight down, so when it rinses, it splashes against the tray and everywhere unless I hold it straight down. Minor inconvenience. Overall this machine is very easy to use and I haven’t purchased a coffee out since I’ve had this machine.
