After Two Broken Nespresso Machines, This Was the Answer

Coming from a Nespresso Vertuo machine that finally gave out after 6 years, we originally planned to just replace it with another Nespresso. Unfortunately, we went through TWO different replacement machines that both broke within 30 days, which honestly made the whole process frustrating and discouraging. After days of nonstop research, I finally decided to give this Philips 3300 machine a chance. I almost didn’t because some of the reviews made me hesitant, but I’m so glad I ignored them and bought it anyway.I’ve only had it for less than two weeks, so I can’t speak on long-term durability yet, but I can say setup was incredibly easy and the machine itself is very user-friendly. We chose the version with the traditional steam wand instead of the LatteGo system because the extra $300 didn’t seem worth it for our needs. As a busy couple, we wanted something quick and convenient like the Nespresso, so a fully automatic machine was the only option for us. While this machine takes slightly more effort than popping in a pod, the difference in coffee quality, customization, and overall experience makes it 100% worth the extra minute or two.If you’re on the fence because of negative reviews like I was, just buy it already. For around $350, this machine is an incredible value compared to everything else in this category.

Quality machine, great design, super support

Was put off by some of the negitive reviews but happy I bought it. Home run. Espresso tastes great, the design is very good, easy to operate. Super silent.I've had two previous Saeco's over the past 15 years. This are now owned by Philips. Philips borrowed much of the internal design from Saeco. One of the reasons I went with Philips is that being it was similar internally, maintenance would be easier for me. Also, I had few issues with my Saeco machines, so figured why not given other top brands have about the same ratings. What you'll notice is this machine has the same internal brew system as my old Saeco from 8 years ago. But they changed about everything else ...for the better. Drop trey no longer has any wires in it, or se sort, no faulty false sensor events. Also the water is now just a pull out drawer. No more top loading or filling. Easy slick. Love it.I was resistant to get the carafe. After my fordt Saeco that was fully automatic, and every expensive, started to give me problems after a few years, all those issues were with the brother, carafe, pump systems related to it. I wanted to pair down the range of internal components that could go wrong. Well the Latte Go doesn't really have any additional internal components for this just the carafe using the built in brother pump (smae internals without the Go carafe) so I did it.The machine is super quiet. Espresso comes out HOT (big improvement from last generation). It's also very good. I don't know why people say it comes out watery. My first cup sort of did but then I adjusted the grind and the amount of water used per pull and BAM. Spot on. Maybe the very few negitive reviews just haven't found their sweet spot..and i like mine as strong as it gets...still it's smooth, strong, not harsh. Here is one negitive thing but also a silver lining. The Latte Go carafe broke on first attempted use. So much for that "fewer things to break" theory. The carafe is a genius concept but the carafe design itself is perhaps

    It’s a hassle

I come from Nespresso and this is just a hassle to clean and maintain and the milk frother is nowhere as good as on my Breville- which was a normal steam wand too but you could just push a button and it did the rest. No holding the milk and waiting for the right moment to switch off.Coffee is ok although I had to turn the grinder to the finest setting to get a decently strong coffee out of it. All other setting result in just watery coffee. Crema is there but not overly good.I tried so many different espresso beans and Starbucks blonde gives the best compromise. The machine internally is incredibly dirty. So many nooks and crannies to clean where coffee accumulates. The brew group always feels dirty because you have to lube it with silicone lube and can’t put it in the dishwasher.Water tank is small and the machine stops right in the middle of a brew if it detects low even though there is still plenty of water to finish that espresso…
